Report of three cases of Meckel´s diverticulum

Abstract
|
|
|
The author reports 3 cases of Meckel´s diverticulum with a review of the literature.
The first case, 1 month and 20 day-old male, visited the Chonnam National University Hospital due to abdominal distension, vomiting and no evidence of defecation for 6 days. The findings of barium enema showed the round filling defect of the ileum with obstruction. The operation was done. The specimen showed the reactive hyperplasia of lymph nodes and Meckel´s diverticulum.
The second, 1 year and 2 months-old female complained palpable abdominal mass. The findings of small bowel study showed the round filling defect of the ileum the operation was done. The speciman consists of cystic lesion measured about 4cmx 3cmx 3cm containing mucoid viscid fluid material. Meckel´s diverticulum was confirmed by histopathological study.
The third, 1 year and 11 months-old male complained severe abdominal distension and no defecation. Emergency operation was done, and Meckel´s diverticulum was confirmed.
